Nora Welcomes Gabby To Her Piano…

GabbyNoraPiano_72BW

This has been quite a day, indeed! And frankly I’m just as confused as you probably are! I’m sure you’ve seen the videos where I react possessively when anyone, human or cat, approaches the keys of my beloved piano. Gabby (pictured above – she’s the smaller one) has on more than one occasion been subjected to a paw on the head and a hiss from yours truly when she ventured too close. So, why and how could this photo even exist? And yet there we are – sharing the keys. Of course, she merely stood there and posed for the camera. I’m still the only piano cat in this household. Could this be the shape of things to come? Have I abandoned my sole ownership of the 88? Could this be the beginning of a beautiful (and sharing) relationship? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Where’s Nora?

Alright, I agree that I’m much too much a star to ever really blend in. But on those rare occasions when I seek a little anonymity, I head on down to under-the-piano land and join an animal cast of characters that includes frogs, lizards, snakes, cats, fish, and even a turkey. And if I keep very, very still, even my sibling Max (with whom I have a somewhat strained relationship) may just pass right on by. So, the next time you stop over for a visit and don’t see me on the piano bench, take a look down under and if you spot me and I give a little wink, just keep walking – and tell Max that Nora has left the building.

Another Nora Presents…This Time Rennie In “Size Matters”

Rennie was adopted not long after me. He was the cutest kitten, and we got along very well. Unfortunately, a few years down the road he became intolerant of a later adoptee named Ellie. For reasons which I won’t go into here, it became necessary to separate the two of them. That’s when Rennie became the art studio cat. Even though the art studio is the first floor of my house, and there is a screen door to the studio entrance, I seldom see Rennie because I pretty much stay on the second and third floors. Anyway, here’s the latest episode in my The Cats of Raven’s Wing series starring Rennie in “Size Matters.”

New How-To Book from Quirk Books…

NoraWithHowToQuirkBook

Being an internet celebrity is not all about the bright lights, cameras rolling, and millions of fans screaming for more. Sometimes I just want to curl up with a good book with plenty of pictures and words to inspire and educate. And boy could I have used this new book from Quirk Books back in 2007 when I began my own rise to internet fame. Well, actually, it’s my purrsonal assistants who could have used it. The book is titled How To Make Your Cat An Internet Celebrity by Patricia Carlin, with photographs (lots of them) by Dustin Fenstermacher (obviously not his real name). It certainly would have made my road a bit less bumpy. (Click image to view larger version of moi with my very own copy.)

C’est la vie! It’s here now, and if you are purrsonal assistant to a feline celebrity hopeful, you should definitely check this book out. Be warned, I am not in it (an accidental oversight by the author, I’m sure), but the information, photos, and humor contained within its 127 pages will delight most anyone – except maybe Grumpy Cat.

Love,
Nora

A Paws-Up To My PAs…

A brand new video from Team Nora. What’s Team Nora? Well, as you know, I am a musical diva and an internet phenomenon. But no one who gets to where I’ve gotten gets there alone. My team is made up of my two purrsonal assistants, the mixed media artist Burnell Yow! and the composer, teacher and musician Betsy Alexander. And this newest video is kind of a shout out to them – as well as a platform for revealing even more of what makes me the diva I am. Hope you enjoy and will share and comment.
